The main objective of this sexual and reproductive health program is enhancing the knowledge, skills and attitude of youth & adolescents on sexual and reproductive health and rights; leading to behavioral change which enables young people to make evidence based and informed decisions with responsible choices

The program increases adolescent’s awareness on sexual and reproductive health including rights through a series of five weekly 2.5-3-hour sessions. Group sessions include 12-18 participants led by two facilitators, one male, and one female.

The sessions focus on increasing awareness on SRHR challenges young people face both at school and home, effective communication and negotiation skills about sex with their peers and encouraging personal practices that increase the chances that one wont engage in sexual risk taking behaviors

By the end of the fifth session, the adolescents should feel more knowledgeable on sexual and reproductive health (including fertility, pregnancy, contraception, STIs/HIV, and current mix options available for them.

They will also have increased knowledge on health in pregnancy including HIV testing and counseling. The youth also have knowledge on post exposure prophylaxis (PEP), Pre Exposure Prophylaxis (Prep) and emergency contraceptive pills, forms of gender based violence and where to seek help, unwanted pregnancies and related consequences.
