Uwenami, meaning “Stay with me”, is a partial scholarship fund established in 2018 by the Baerbel Jennert Foundation in Kenya. It supports bright and talented students from disadvantaged backgrounds, helping them continue their education despite financial hardship.
For families with limited income, tuition fees and learning materials can place a considerable strain on the household budget. These costs can interrupt a student’s education, even when they have the ability and motivation to succeed.
The fund contributes towards tuition fees and learning materials, easing the financial pressure on families and helping students stay focused on their learning.
Our aim is to give students the opportunity to develop their talents, build their confidence and prepare for their future. By supporting their education, we help students work towards their goals and create more opportunities for themselves, their families and their communities. This eases the financial pressure on families and gives students the opportunity to develop their talents.
